About Us
In 2015, Oscar Perez founded Tio Pelon’s Salsita out of his apartment kitchen in San Antonio, Texas. He had decided to go back to school to pursue an MBA and decided to start a small business on the side. The idea of “canning” came to mind due to an abundance of homegrown veggies he had going to waste. After some research, he decided to give canning a try. Eventually, he landed on grandma Emma’s secret salsa recipe and decided to sell it on Facebook to friends and family.
In 2018, Tio Pelon’s Salsita made it to HEB Quest for Texas Best, ranking in the Top 25 out of 700 companies statewide. In 2019, Tio Pelon’s Salsita incorporated welcoming two new business partners Noe Molina and Alberto Altamirano.
